The frequency response of the Arcosia 28-1 is the result of consistent engineering work from our loudspeaker manufacturer: In the core working range from 1.5 kHz to 15 kHz, the driver exhibits exceptional linearity with an amplitude deviation of less than ±2 dB – the foundation for neutral, coloration-free high-frequency reproduction that elevates audiophile DIY projects to reference level.

Particularly relevant for loudspeaker DIY builders: The forgiving amplitude response at the lower end of the transmission range allows coupling from approx. 2 kHz – even with steep-slope 2nd or 3rd order filters. This gives you maximum freedom in choosing the midrange driver and significantly simplifies crossover design.

The controlled dispersion behavior at 30° and 60° demonstrates uniform directivity: The driver consistently radiates energy into the room, ensuring stable soundstage imaging and a homogeneous sound picture even off-axis from the listening position. The complete absence of resonance-related peaks in the upper transmission range is no coincidence – it is the direct result of the hand-applied dome coating, which is applied individually to each driver in our workshop.

The impedance curve of the Arcosia 28-1 shows the behavior of a technically sophisticated tweeter. The impedance maximum occurs at the resonance frequency of approx. 390 Hz – well below typical crossover frequencies – providing generous headroom for crossover design.

Above resonance, the driver behaves almost purely resistively over a wide frequency range: the voice coil inductance is exceptionally low at Le = 0.02 mH, keeping the impedance rise toward high frequencies minimal. For the crossover designer, this means a well-behaved, predictable load – simpler filter design, lower phase errors, and more flexibility in component selection.

The smooth, resonance-free curve without dips or peaks in the passband is an indicator of careful acoustic damping of the rear volume as well as tight manufacturing tolerances in the magnet system. The result: a tweeter that performs in practice exactly as the simulation promises.
