Particularly relevant for DIY enthusiasts: the usable frequency range up to approximately 2.5 kHz allows direct pairing with tweeters with crossover start frequencies of 2 kHz – ideal for high-end 2-way speaker designs. In 3-way systems, the Arcosia 7 handles the midrange band from roughly 200–300 Hz, routing the low-frequency signal to a dedicated subwoofer or woofer. The typical 7-inch driver beam pattern becomes apparent above approximately 2 kHz – a physically predictable behavior that should be factored into your crossover frequency selection.

Qts 0.31 – precisely calculable for bass reflex and closed enclosures

The impedance curve of the Arcosia 7 shows the behavior of a carefully tuned 7-inch midwoofer: The impedance maximum occurs at the resonant frequency of approximately 36 Hz (TSP) – exceptionally deep for a driver of this size class. The Qts value of 0.31 is the critical design parameter: It clearly positions the Arcosia 7 in the bass reflex tuning range, but it is also suitable for sealed enclosures with a correspondingly larger volume. For the DIY developer, this means precise, calculable system design without compromises.

Above resonance, the driver behaves electrically stably: The impedance rises moderately toward high frequencies due to the voice coil inductance (Le = 0.87 mH) – this is an expected and easily manageable value for a midwoofer with a 32 mm voice coil. The 8-ohm design allows trouble-free operation with common HiFi and multi-channel amplifiers, both in passive and active setups.

The cleanly defined impedance maximum without secondary resonances or irregularities confirms the mechanical precision of the overhung drive system and the quality of the suspension. A driver that behaves in enclosure calculations exactly as it does in simulations – reproducible, reliable, Made in Germany.
