91 dB / fs at 24 Hz – usable from 22 Hz to 1 kHz, for bass reflex and 3-way

The frequency response of the Orchestra 11-612 demonstrates the performance of an 11" woofer with the lowest resonant frequency in the ETON Orchestra product line: a smooth, controlled amplitude curve from approximately 22 Hz to 1 kHz – with a 91 dB efficiency rating and a stable level profile across the entire operating range. The ribbed paper cone (RP) with an effective radiation area of 366 cm² controls parasitic oscillations in the upper operating range and stabilizes excursion behavior even at high displacements up to an electrical Xmax of ±5.0 mm. The result is a consistent frequency response without the typical peaks that many 11" drivers exhibit in the upper mid-bass range.

Particularly relevant for DIY loudspeaker builders: The usable operating range up to approximately 1 kHz makes the Orchestra 11-612 a dedicated woofer for 3-way systems – the crossover frequency to the midrange driver should be set to approximately 200–400 Hz to operate the driver exclusively in its optimal operating range. The 24 Hz resonant frequency and 152 dm³ equivalent volume are the critical parameters for enclosure design: In a bass reflex enclosure with optimal tuning, the lower cutoff frequency can drop below 22 Hz – a bass response that only a small number of 11" drivers in the audiophile DIY segment can achieve. A Qts of 0.29 positions this driver as a dedicated bass reflex specialist.

The consistent frequency response without dips or peaks across the operating range confirms the quality of the paper RP cone and the powerful motor assembly (BL = 11.4 Tm). This 11" woofer sounds exactly as it measures – deep, controlled, with genuine infrasonic bass extension. Made in Germany, from the ETON factory.

Qts 0.29 / fs 24 Hz – lowest resonant frequency in the orchestral product lineup, primarily for bass reflex

The impedance curve of the Orchestra 11-612 demonstrates the performance of an 11" woofer with the lowest resonant frequency in the entire ETON Orchestra product range: The impedance maximum sits at approximately 24 Hz (TSP) – lower than the Orchestra 12-612 (30 Hz) and significantly deeper than all smaller Orchestra drivers. The Qts value of 0.29 is the lowest in the Orchestra range, clearly positioning this driver for bass reflex enclosures: In a sealed enclosure, bass extension would be severely limited by the very low Qts. The BL = 11.4 Tm force factor delivers powerful, precise drive. The equivalent volume of 152 dm³ – the largest in the Orchestra range – requires generous bass reflex cabinet volumes for optimal tuning.

Above the resonant frequency, the driver behaves electrically stably: Impedance rises moderately toward high frequencies due to voice coil inductance (Le = 1.03 mH) – a value expected for an 11" woofer with a 50 mm copper voice coil on a Kapton former, which does not complicate crossover design. Despite its large format and low resonant frequency, the Orchestra 11-612 remains electrically predictable and stable – an important property for crossover design in 3-way systems. The 8-ohm design enables trouble-free operation with common HiFi amplifiers and power amplifiers.

The cleanly defined impedance peak at 24 Hz with no secondary resonances confirms the mechanical precision of the overhung drive system and the quality of the suspension. This 11" woofer behaves identically in enclosure calculations as it does in simulations – reproducible, reliable, Made in Germany.
