The resonance frequency of 112 Hz (TSP) and the equivalent volume of only 0.7 dm³ enable use in small, sealed midrange chambers from approx. 0.5–1 liter or in open baffle designs. The force factor BL = 7.2 Tm with a moving mass of only 4.4 g is the decisive drive characteristic: This exceptional ratio enables lightning-fast impulse response and precise transient reproduction that is extraordinary for a 3" midrange driver.

The neodymium magnet with a magnetic flux density of 1.50 T – the highest value in the entire Symphony II range – is the key to this drive ratio in the compact 3" format. The extremely low voice coil inductance of Le = 0.11 mH is the second unique selling point: It ensures a linear impedance curve far into the treble range and enables simple, phase-optimized crossover design without elaborate impedance correction. The smooth impedance curve without secondary resonances demonstrates the mechanical precision of the overhang drive system and the dimensional stability of the Hexacone diaphragm even at high excursions up to Xmax ±2.0 mm electrical.

The 8-ohm design allows easy operation with common HiFi amplifiers. The 25-mm copper voice coil on a Kapton former ensures thermal stability at 40 W (IEC 60268-5).
