The 8-ohm design allows easy driving with common hi-fi amplifiers. The impedance rise due to Le = 0.90 mH is an expected value for a 7" woofer with a 32-mm voice coil – the Symphony II 7-212 is typically operated with a crossover at approx. 500 Hz–1.5 kHz, well below the range where Le complicates crossover design.
