89 dB / Hexacone diaphragm + phase plug / fs 35 Hz – usable from 35 Hz to 1–2 kHz, 80 W

The frequency response of the Symphony II 7-312 demonstrates the behavior of a top-class 7" woofer with patented Hexacone diaphragm in a multilayer construction and phase plug: a uniform, controlled amplitude response from approx. 35 Hz to 1–2 kHz – with 89 dB efficiency and a stable level structure across the entire transmission range. The Hexacone diaphragm ensures a linear frequency response even at the high excursions that physically occur with a 7" woofer at low frequencies below 40 Hz and 80 W – without partial oscillations or peaks under load. The result is a frequency response that is just as linear at 80 W as it is at 1 W.

The open-design phase plug is the decisive factor for the controlled dispersion behavior in the upper transmission range: it ensures uniform sound radiation across the entire diaphragm surface and low-diffraction dispersion behavior up to approx. 1–2 kHz – the foundation for phase-optimized, seamless integration with the midrange or tweeter. For the DIY developer and loudspeaker manufacturer, this means: the crossover frequency can be selected at approx. 500 Hz–2 kHz – in an acoustically controlled range with low-diffraction dispersion behavior. Bass reflex enclosures from approx. 30–60 liters with tuning around 25–35 Hz enable deep bass extension well below 35 Hz.

The uniform frequency response without dips or peaks in the transmission range demonstrates the superior quality of the Hexacone diaphragm and the drive system (BL = 8.8 Tm, ferrite 1.00 T, Le = 0.90 mH, Sd = 137 cm²). A 7" woofer with Hexacone diaphragm and phase plug that sounds the way it measures – deep, linear, with controlled dispersion behavior up to the crossover frequency. Made in Germany, from the ETON manufactory.

Qts 0.29 / fs 35 Hz / BL 8.8 Tm – Hexacone membrane + phase plug, 80 W, bass reflex from 30–60 L

The impedance curve of the Symphony II 7-312 shows the behavior of a top-class 7" woofer with patented Hexacone cone in multilayer construction and phase plug: The impedance maximum is at approx. 35 Hz (TSP) – the tuning basis for subwoofer-like low-end extension well below 35 Hz in a bass-reflex enclosure. The Qts value of 0.29 and the equivalent volume of 30.0 dm³ clearly position the driver as a bass-reflex driver for enclosures from approx. 30–60 liters with low tuning around 25–35 Hz. The force factor BL = 8.8 Tm with an effective radiating area of Sd = 137 cm² and a moving mass of 17.3 g ensures powerful, precise drive even at high excursions up to Xmax ±4.5 mm electrical / ±8.8 mm mechanical – safe and controlled at 80 W (IEC 60268-5).

The open-design phase plug is the acoustic distinguishing feature of the Symphony II 7-312: It actively optimizes the radiation behavior in the upper frequency range, ensures uniform sound radiation across the entire cone area, and enables crossover frequencies up to approx. 1–2 kHz with controlled, low-beaming radiation behavior. The improved air circulation in the pole piece area reduces thermal compression during long-term operation at 80 W. The Hexacone cone remains dimensionally stable even at the high excursions that occur with 7" drivers in the bass range below 40 Hz – the cleanly defined impedance maximum without secondary resonances confirms this mechanical precision. The 32-mm copper voice coil on Kapton former (Le = 0.90 mH, 1.00 T) ensures thermal stability during long-term operation.

The 8-ohm design allows easy driving with common hi-fi amplifiers. The impedance rise due to Le = 0.90 mH lies well above the typical crossover frequency of 500 Hz–1.5 kHz, which simplifies crossover design. A 7" woofer with Hexacone cone and phase plug that behaves in enclosure calculation exactly as it does in simulation – precise, predictable, Made in Germany.
