Symphony II 8-412/C8/32 HEX
The ETON Symphony II 8-412 is the long-throw woofer of the Symphony II line – a top-tier 8" driver for audiophile DIY loudspeaker projects and speaker manufacturers that demand Hexacone cone technology, maximum linear excursion, and deep bass extension down to below 28 Hz in subwoofer operation. The heart of the Symphony II 8-412 is the patented multi-layer Hexacone cone with an effective radiating area of Sd = 222 cm² and an electrical Xmax of ±5.5 mm – the highest linear excursion value in the entire Symphony II line. The CCAW voice coil (copper-aluminum composite, 32 mm) reduces moving mass and enables agile, controlled drive despite the large excursion: BL = 8.0 Tm at Mmd = 29.6 g, Le = 0.72 mH. The mechanical Xmax of ±14.2 mm provides an enormous safety margin – even at extreme levels and low frequencies below 30 Hz, the Hexacone cone remains dimensionally stable without partial resonances under load.
With a resonance frequency of 28 Hz (TSP), a Qts of 0.40, and an equivalent volume of 101.0 dm³ – the largest Vas in the entire Symphony II line – the Symphony II 8-412 is designed for bass-reflex enclosures from approx. 80–150 liters tuned around 20–28 Hz. The higher Qts of 0.40 compared to the 8-212 (Qts 0.31) also makes the 8-412 suitable for larger bass-reflex designs where maximum linear excursion for deep bass extension and level stability at low frequencies is the priority. With 89 dB efficiency, 80 W power handling (IEC 60268-5), 223 mm overall diameter, and 2.13 kg, the Symphony II 8-412 is the long-throw driver of choice for subwoofer and bass applications with Hexacone cone quality. Made in Germany, from the ETON factory.
Why the ETON Symphony II 8-412 for your project?
- Patented multi-layer Hexacone cone, Sd = 222 cm²: aerospace technology in loudspeaker construction – dimensionally stable even at mechanical Xmax ±14.2 mm, without partial resonances under load
- Xmax ±5.5 mm electrical – highest linear excursion in the Symphony II line: level-stable, low-distortion deep bass reproduction even at 80 W and low frequencies below 30 Hz
- CCAW voice coil (copper-aluminum composite): lighter than Cu – agile drive despite large excursion, optimized for maximum transient accuracy in the bass range
- BL = 8.0 Tm / fs 28 Hz (TSP) / Qts 0.40 / Vas 101.0 dm³: largest possible equivalent volume in the Symphony II line – bass-reflex enclosures from approx. 80–150 liters for deep bass extension down to below 20 Hz
- 89 dB / 80 W (IEC 60268-5) / ferrite 1.00 T / Le = 0.72 mH: high efficiency and thermal power handling for level-stable reproduction in continuous operation
- 223 mm Ø, 108.3 mm depth, 2.13 kg: compact 8" long-throw format for subwoofers and 3-way systems. Made in Germany.
For DIY loudspeaker projects and speaker manufacturers that demand Hexacone cone technology, maximum linear excursion, and deep bass extension down to below 20 Hz in an 8" long-throw format – the ETON Symphony II 8-412. Made in Germany, from the ETON factory.

Patented Hexacone diaphragm in a multilayer construction + CCAW voice coil (copper-aluminum composite): aerospace technology meets long-throw drive – dimensionally stable even at Xmax ±14.2 mm mechanically, linear at 80 W as at 1 W.

Xmax ±5.5 mm electric – highest linear excursion of the Symphony II line: level-stable, low-distortion deep bass reproduction even at extreme levels below 30 Hz and 80 W (IEC 60268-5).

BL = 8.0 Tm / fs 28 Hz (TSP) / Qts 0.40 / Vas 101.0 dm³: largest equivalent volume in the Symphony II line – bass reflex enclosures from approx. 80–150 liters for depth down to below 20 Hz.

89 dB / 80 W (IEC 60268-5) / Sd = 222 cm² / 223 mm Ø / 2.13 kg – high efficiency, compact 8" long-throw format for subwoofers & 3-way systems. Made in Germany.
