Symphony II 8-512/C8/32 HEX
The ETON Symphony II 8-512 is the long-throw bass driver with the lowest frequency range of the entire Symphony II line – a top-tier 8" driver for audiophile DIY loudspeaker projects and speaker manufacturers seeking Hexacone diaphragm technology, maximum linear excursion, and extension down into the infrasonic range below 20 Hz. At the heart of the Symphony II 8-512 is the patented multi-layer Hexacone diaphragm with an effective radiating area of Sd = 222 cm², an electrical Xmax of ±5.5 mm and the lowest fs of the Symphony II line: 27 Hz (TSP). The CCAW voice coil (copper-aluminum composite, 32 mm) with a moving mass of just 25.0 g ensures agile, transient-accurate drive despite the large excursion: BL = 7.8 Tm at Le = 0.72 mH. The mechanical Xmax of ±14.2 mm provides an enormous safety margin – even at extreme levels and low frequencies below 30 Hz, the Hexacone diaphragm remains dimensionally stable without partial resonances under load.
With a resonance frequency of 27 Hz (TSP), a Qts of 0.40 and an equivalent volume of 102.0 dm³ – the largest Vas of the entire Symphony II line – the Symphony II 8-512 is designed for bass-reflex enclosures from approx. 80–150 liters tuned around 18–27 Hz: extension deep into the infrasonic range below 20 Hz, with maximum linear excursion and Hexacone diaphragm quality. With 89 dB efficiency, 80 W power handling (IEC 60268-5), 223 mm overall diameter and 2.23 kg, the Symphony II 8-512 is the long-throw driver of choice for subwoofer and bass applications where the lowest possible frequency spectrum of the Symphony II line is to be combined with Hexacone diaphragm quality. Made in Germany, from the ETON manufactory.
Why the ETON Symphony II 8-512 for your project?
- Patented multi-layer Hexacone diaphragm, Sd = 222 cm²: aerospace technology in loudspeaker construction – dimensionally stable even at mechanical Xmax ±14.2 mm, linear at 80 W as at 1 W
- fs 27 Hz (TSP) – lowest fs of the Symphony II line: tuning basis for extension deep into the infrasonic range below 20 Hz in a bass-reflex enclosure
- Xmax ±5.5 mm electrical / ±14.2 mm mechanical: maximum linear excursion with an enormous safety margin – level-stable, low-distortion deep bass reproduction even at 80 W below 30 Hz
- CCAW voice coil (copper-aluminum composite) / Mmd = 25.0 g: lightest moving mass of the 8" long-throw models – agile, transient-accurate drive despite large excursion
- Qts 0.40 / Vas 102.0 dm³ / BL = 7.8 Tm / Le = 0.72 mH: largest possible equivalent volume of the Symphony II line – bass-reflex enclosures from approx. 80–150 liters
- 89 dB / 80 W (IEC 60268-5) / 223 mm Ø / 2.23 kg: high efficiency, compact 8" long-throw format for subwoofers & 3-way systems. Made in Germany.
For DIY loudspeaker projects and speaker manufacturers seeking Hexacone diaphragm technology, maximum linear excursion and the lowest frequency spectrum of the Symphony II line – the ETON Symphony II 8-512. Made in Germany, from the ETON manufactory.

Patented Hexacone diaphragm in a multilayer construction + CCAW voice coil (Mmd = 25.0 g): aerospace technology meets long-throw drive – dimensionally stable even at Xmax ±14.2 mm mechanically, agile and linear at 80 W as at 1 W.

fs 27 Hz (TSP) / Xmax ±5.5 mm electrical / Vas 102.0 dm³: lowest fs, highest linear excursion, and largest possible equivalent volume – bass reflex enclosures from approx. 80–150 liters for depth down to below 20 Hz.

Xmax ±4.2 mm mechanical / 80 W (IEC 60268-5): enormous safety margin – level-stable, low-distortion deep bass reproduction even at extreme levels below 25 Hz in subwoofer operation.

89 dB / BL = 7.8 Tm / Sd = 222 cm² / 223 mm Ø / 2.23 kg – high efficiency, compact 8" long-throw format for subwoofers & 3-way. Made in Germany.
